About Our LeadersDavon Johnson is the senior pastor of Higher Calling In Christ Ministries International, which is located in Miami, FL and was founded in December 2020.
Then: Davon and his wife, Deborah, faithfully served as deacons-ministers in their home church of over 10 years. Davon served as the official lector (proclaiming the daily reading of Scripture), the pastor's armor bearer (rendering aid during service), an accountability leader in the men's ministry, and the secretary for the husband's ministry. Deborah served as the pastor's administrative assistant (responsible for organizing the pastor's weekly schedule, recording minutes at leadership meetings, overseeing adult baptisms/child dedications services, selling and managing inventory of church merchandise, etc.), supervised the media ministry (live-streaming services, curating social media content, maintaining the church's website, designing flyers for church events), co-led the women's ministry, and planned the annual women's retreats. Together, Davon and Deborah led intercessory prayer every Sunday morning, and during their college years, spearheaded their church’s evangelism and outreach ministry at the local university they attended. Now: Between June-October 2020, the Lord began to give Davon and Deborah multiple prophetic confirmations that it was time to branch out of their local church home and to accept the higher calling into the "5-fold" office by starting their own ministry. Pastor Davon and Prophetess Deborah aspire to reach their community, city and world with the gospel presented in a relevant and progressive way. Their desire is to help activate and cultivate the natural and spiritual gifts in others so they, too, can accept their higher calling in Christ. The Johnsons have been married since 2014 and live in Miami Gardens. |

Hebrews 13:7 AMP
Remember your leaders [for it was they] who brought you the word of God; and consider the result of their conduct [the outcome of their godly lives], and imitate their faith [their conviction that God exists and is the Creator and Ruler of all things, the Provider of eternal salvation through Christ, and imitate their reliance on God with absolute trust and confidence in His power, wisdom, and goodness]. |
Hebrews 13:17 AMP
Obey your [spiritual] leaders and submit to them [recognizing their authority over you], for they are keeping watch over your souls and continually guarding your spiritual welfare as those who will give an account [of their stewardship of you]. Let them do this with joy and not with grief and groans, for this would be of no benefit to you. |
1 Thessalonians 5:12-13 AMP
Now we ask you, brothers and sisters, to appreciate those who diligently work among you [recognize, acknowledge, and respect your leaders], who are in charge over you in the Lord and who give you instruction, and [we ask that you appreciate them and] hold them in the highest esteem in love because of their work [on your behalf]. Live in peace with one another. |
