Mantles. Ministries. Mandates.
Some are called to serve within the four walls of the church under a 5-fold mantle of apostle, prophet, pastor, teacher and/or evangelist. Some may not have a title or position to serve during a church service, but may be called to serve within an outreach type of ministry, such as a homeless ministry, prison ministry, battered women's ministry, traveling deliverance ministry, etc. Still, there are some who are called to serve in the corporate arena or marketplace in the field of education, politics, hospitality, health care, law enforcement, entertainment industry, etc.. No matter what you believe you are called to do, your occupation is not insignificant. God needs believers set up in every profession in order to shine their light and reach the lost. Join a small group with others who work in your vocation so you can encourage and equip each other as Christians working in the secular world. More details coming soon... |
Romans 12:6-9
We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully. |
1 Corinthians 12:7-11
Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good. To one there is given through the Spirit a message of wisdom, to another a message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit, to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues. All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he distributes them to each one, just as he determines. |
Ephesians 4:11-16
And he gave gifts to the Church: some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine... |
1 Peter 4:10-11
As good stewards of the manifold grace of God, each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve one another. Whoever speaks is to do so as one who is speaking actual words of God; whoever serves is to do so as one who is serving by the strength which God supplies; so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belongs the glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen. |
